Scarlett Johansson addressed rumors of her return to the MCU
During her appearance on the ‘Today’ show on Monday, November 13, to promote her skincare line, The Outset, Johansson also addressed speculation about a potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Black Widow.
She told Savannah Guthrie, “I think it was the end, right? … She pᴀssed,” referring to the death of Natasha Romanoff in the ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
She continued, “It would be a miracle. It would be a real Marvel miracle. It would be a marvel. But who knows?”
Johansson first played Black Widow in 2010’s ‘Iron Man 2’ and went on to appear as the character in several follow-up films including ‘The Avengers’ (2012) and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ (2014).
Although the character met her fate in 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’, she made a leading appearance once again in 2021’s ‘Black Widow’ standalone film, which takes place after the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (2016).
