Although the Fantastic Four team itself has not appeared in the MCU, one of its members technically has. Actor John Krasinski briefly appeared in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness as a variant of Reed Richards, though he was killed, along with the rest of the Illuminati, by the Scarlet Witch. Krasinski had been a fan-favorite actor for Mister Fantastic for years. The actor, however, previously confirmed that he has not had any talks about a Fantastic Four film.
Marvel Studios announced the MCU’s Fantastic Four in December 2020, with director Jon Watts, who helmed the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy, attached. Watts later exited the project and was replaced by Matt Shakman, who previously directed Disney+’s WandaVision. The film is set to kick off Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will puncuated by the two Avengers films, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four is set to premiere in theaters on Feb. 14, 2025.
