As Inter Miami supporters are excited to see the Spanish left back pair up with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets in South Florida, Jordi Alba is officially on his way to the United States.
Alba, who is currently 34 years old, has agreed to a contract that will keep him with the Herons until the 2024 MLS season. The news of Alba’s signing was technically announced by the Herons exactly one week ago today.
The winner of the Champions League for the 2014–15 season posted a picture of himself on Instagram this past Saturday, as he was getting ready to depart from Barcelona on a private plane while also cuddling with his large dog.
In a footnote to the piece, he wrote, “Let’s go!” (meaning “Come on, let’s go!”).
The tweet included a caption that said, “Have a safe trip.” “Soon, each and every one of us will be together. You have our love! Give it a go already!!’
Romarey Ventura, who is also well-known on the internet in Spain, is married to Alba, and approximately ten days ago, she gave birth to the couple’s newest child, a son named Paolo. Many people, at the time, hypothesized that this was the reason why the player’s move wasn’t made until today.
Alba’s arrival on a free transfer comes after his contract with Barcelona was terminated by mutual agreement in May.
