Jude Bellingham was raised in the West Midlands town of Stourbridge, which is located west of Birmingham.

He attended Stourbridge Juniors as a young child, a club founded by his father Mark Bellingham, a former non-league football player.

Jude Bellingham has talked in the past about his early football-playing memories and the good times he had when his father would teach them on Sunday mornings.

However, Bellingham’s first coach, Phil Wooldridge, who recalls first meeting Bellingham when he was four, claims that Bellingham’s passion of football wasn’t inborn.

“As soon as you put a football in front of him, [he was] not really interested,” he stated to the BBC.

“It took a while [for him to get into football], it wasn’t just overnight, it was a matter of a few months.”

But Bellingham could not be stopped once it clicked.

Jude Bellingham wrote “professional footballer for England” under the title “When I grow up I want to be” in his yearbook, expressing his growing passion for football.

Vanessa Payne, the former headteacher of Bellingham, said he “stood out for us all those years ago” in an interview with the BBC.

stating that “people just wanted to be around him since he was a good sport, kind, and lovely person.

“He’s left a legacy here of sportsmanship and ambition and trying to be the best you can be,” said Mrs. Payne.

The first teenager on the team

At the age of sixteen, Bellingham became the youngest member of Birmingham City’s first squad, having begun his football career at the club’s academy as an under-8 player.

“He’s always had a strong sense of purpose for where he wants to go,” remarks Mike Dodds, the England star’s former coach at Birmingham.

Dodds, a Sunderland coach currently, explained that although he had always known Bellingham was very gifted, there were moments when it took him a long to fully appreciate his potential: “When I watched him play in the Championship at 16, I sat down and thought ‘wow, this boy is a little bit different to most.’”

Bellingham left Birmingham City’s first team after just one season to join Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

Bellingham was acquired by Dortmund for £25 million, the highest transfer fee ever paid for a 17-year-old.

Bellingham’s shirt number, 22, was retired by Birmingham City, a move that shocked many at the time and prevented it from ever being used again.

Birmingham City stated that the action was taken to “remember one of our own and to inspire others.” This is typically a symbolic gesture made for players who have been club icons who have either retired or passed away.

England

Bellingham, who was still a teenager, was one of England’s most impressive players during the World Cup in Qatar the previous year.

The midfielder assisted the Three Lions in advancing to the competition’s quarterfinals, when France eliminated them.

Additionally, he scored England’s first goal of the competition in a 6-2 victory over Iran.

With the goal, he became England’s second-youngest goalscorer in the World Cup, just behind Michael Owen.

Behind Luke Shaw in 2014 and Michael Owen in 1998, Bellingham became England’s third youngest World Cup starter at the age of 19 years and 145 days.

Bellingham has established himself as a mainstay in England’s starting lineup since the World Cup.

His nation qualified for the 2024 European Championship in Germany thanks to yet another outstanding performance.

In a qualifying match at Wembley in October, England overcame Italy thanks to a strong run that set up Marcus Rashford.

Madrid

After moving to Dortmund for three years, Bellingham was once more in motion.

He signed a 103 million euro (£88.5 million) contract on June 14 to play football for Real Madrid, one of the biggest teams in the world.

Bellingham, donning the renowned number five shirt worn by the late Zinedine Zidane of Real Madrid, has performed admirably.
