Emilia Clarke is our Mother of Dragons. But she isn’t quite as eager to watch more of the mythical beasts in House of the Dragon.
Emilia Clarke is the Mother of Dragons for every “Game of Thrones” fan. So now that there’s a show that’s all about her character, Daenerys Targaryen’s ancestors and their dragons, many expected that Clarke will surely be tuning in. But turns out, it’s the opposite. The actor playing the first Targaryen the world was introduced to actually doesn’t watch “House of the Dragon.” But why? Let us see her answer.
Emilia Clarke Doesn’t Watch House Of The Dragon
In an interview with Variety, Emila Clarke admitted that she doesn’t watch “House of the Dragon” because it’s too weird for her. She said that she’s avoiding the show but she’s happy for all the awards and accolades it’s earning. Here’s her full quote on the matter:
“Can you [forgive me]? It’s too weird. I’m so happy it’s happening. I’m over the moon about all the awards… I just can’t do it. It’s so weird. It’s so strange. It’s kind of like someone saying, ‘You want to go to this school reunion that’s not your year? Want to go to that school reunion?’ That’s how it feels. I’m avoiding it.”
Even though Emilia is avoiding the show, but she won’t be able to avoid the nerd fandom altogether because she will next be seen in MCU’s “Secret Invasion” series.
The Show Will Continue
“House of the Dragon” has been a runaway hit for HBO Max from its first episode. It was reported by Nielsen that it had been watched for a billion minutes in just one week alone. The show is currently gearing up to begin production on season 2 amid the loss of its showrunner. Yet writers on the show have moved forward and have even promised the entry of notable characters from George R.R. Martin’s books.
“House of the Dragon” season 2 will earnestly begin the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. Deaths of several characters have already been foreshadowed in season one. So now it’s a matter of watching how gorey and bloody the series will ultimately become.
