Ford Mustang Mach 1 “Big Daddy” Is a Widebody Monster

The recent release of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has seen certain aficionados wondering if such a badge wouldn’t have required even more badass additions than the newcomer offers. And one of these gearheads is Yasid Oozeear, whose reaction to the matter was only natural… for one of the top digital artists in the world: the enthusiast looked back at a retro Mach 1, coming up with this rendering.

We’ll kick off this widebody tale by mentioning that the pixel master states his (hypothetical) Mach 1 would be taken down the aftermarket path, albeit not to the same extent as the proposal that now sits on our screens.

If I owned a Mach 1, here’s not how I’d do mine. I’d prefer it rather simple, maybe on air, but with subtle fender flares. Or lifted. Aha!” Oozeear explains in the description of the Instagram post below, which showcases the pumped-up pony.

Interestingly, the artist didn’t use the most popular of the original Mach 1s, namely the 1969 and the 1970 models, as a starting point. Instead, he went for the 1971+ model year, which featured the redesigned exterior the Mustang had received, longer nose and all.

The overfenders fitted to the car are downright savage, while the ones up front are nicely linked to the lower front fascia, which replaces the real car’s generous air dam with a full-sized apron, albeit packing a gaping section.

Sitting at the other end of the car, we find a diffuser-style element under the chrome bumper, while a pair of meaty exhaust tips speak of the V8 fury under the hood.

Returning to the air suspension theme mentioned by the artist, this can also be found here, which shows why the Mustang sits so close to the road.

Note that the virtual build packs modern wheels, that even stickg to the deep concave trend that seems to still be around.

Of course, the wicked white finish of the vehicle, playing the matte card, also deserves credit for the appearance transformation
