It seems that the Phase 4 curse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is back to haunt people’s dreams. Emilia Clarke, known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones and Qi’ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story, recently starred as G’iah in Marvel’s Secret Invasion.
Well, it was heartbreaking news for Emilia Clarke to hear when the season finale of Secret Invasion received the lowest score ever. It was going well enough for the television mini-series until the finale of the season dropped which led to a huge drop in the ratings of the show.
Emilia Clarke Gets Backlash For Ruined Secret Invasion Finale
It does seem an incredible coincidence that the two major series that Emilia Clarke has starred in, have failed to create a cohesive ending to their tales. With fans getting disappointed with the highly unorthodox ending of Game of Thrones, it’s time to get disappointed a second time, with the finale of Marvel’s Secret Invasion.
As per the latest reports, the sixth and final episode of Marvel’s Secret Invasion received the lowest critic score out of all the episodes. The series maintained an average rating of around 50% on Rotten Tomatoes (which is bad for a Marvel series) but the finale broke the record.
The final episode of Marvel’s Secret Invasion received a record-breaking low of 13% on Rotten Tomatoes from the critics! This is way too low for any series and even more so for an MCU project. With Emilia Clarke in the mix of things, she also received some backlash because according to some people, she became too powerful for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to handle.
Emilia Clarke Gets Hailed As A Hero And Booed As A Villain
With Clarke starring in two different shows with two failed endings, fans are now speculating whether it has something to do with the Last Christmas actress. Portraying the role of G’iah in Marvel’s Secret Invasion, let’s say that Clarke became too powerful for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to handle (and the people to digest).
We won’t give any spoilers away but there have been several comparisons to the ending of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and how Marvel made fun of its own ending in that show. With a meager 13% rating, fans took to defending Emilia Clarke by hailing her as an all-too-powerful superhero or the mistake of a writer who was too lazy to find logic. Whatever the case may be, Marvel’s Secret Invasion sets up the storyline for The Marvels which is an upcoming MCU project starring Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and, Teyonah Parris.
