PREMIER LEAGUE legend David Silva has retired from football at the age of 37.
The former Manchester City star has suffered a brutal injury blow during pre-season.

Silva sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in training with Real Sociedad.
And he has now announced his retirement as a result of the injury.
He released an emotional farewell video titled: “Thank you so much football.”
The clip contains footage of him showing off his skills as a kid, gradually getting older to show his entire illustrious career.
Silva said: “Today is a sad day, it is time to say goodbye to what I have dedicated my whole life to.
“It is time today goodbye to my colleagues, who are like family to me.”
He thanked every club he played for such as San Fernando, Valencia, Eibar and Celta Vigo.
Having signed a contract extension in May, Silva’s deal ran through to the end of the coming season but he has ripped it up.
He returned to Spain in 2020, signing for Sociedad from City on a free transfer after a decade in England.
Across 93 appearances for the La Liga side, he has scored seven goals and added 18 assists.
The club’s fourth-place performance in the standings last year also enabled Silva’s team qualify for the Champions League.
From his tenure at the Etihad Stadium, he continues to be a favorite of Manchester’s supporters.
Silva contributed 140 assists and 77 goals in 436 games with City.
He also won 14 significant prizes during his ten years in England, including four league championships.
He was also erected a statue outside the Etihad Stadium, along with Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero.
In 125 appearances for Spain throughout the course of his career, Silva also scored 35 goals, helping Spain win the World Cup and the Euros.
