Chris Hemsworth surfs into 40 showing off chiselled abs to celebrate with pals

Chris Hemsworth kicked off his 40th birthday celebrations in style as he enjoyed a surf with his brother Liam Hemsworth and a group of friends.

The Thor star showed off his very toned torso as he headed to Byron Bay, Australia. The group were seen laughing and joking in the carpark as they stripped off before changing into their wetsuits.

Chris was snapped with no top on and his wetsuit pulled up to his hips as he fiddled with his car keys. He walked around barefoot as the wetsuit showed off his muscly legs.

The birthday boy was then given a special treat by his surfer pal Owen Wright, who gifted Chris a copy of his autobiography. When the group were ready, they grabbed their surfboards and walked to the beach.

Liam also showed off his chiselled torso as he changed into his surfing gear. The Hunger Games star sported a ruffled hairstyle and matched his brother with a well-sculpted beard.

Chris carried a white surfboard which has a blue stripe running down the middle. The Hollywood actor showed off his skills as he rode some huge waves.

After spending time in the water, he was seen walking along the beach with his surfboard tucked under his arm. Chris has previously spoken about his love of surfing as he admitted it’s “one of the few things that holds my attention completely.”

“There’s a cleansing every time I get in the water. If I’m having some sort of inner conflict or turmoil, it’s the one place I go. There’s a feeling of starting again,” he said during an interview with GQ.

Chris keeps up with a gruelling workout schedule to maintain his huge muscles and often shares his exercises on social media. He’s previously been filmed performing a range of exercises, such as squats on a balance cushion, push-ups, pull-ups and boxing.

Sergio Perera, who is in charge of Chris’ nutrition, said Chris is “very committed to his training”. Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: “Whenever he has to gain weight, we increase his protein intake quite a bit. For example, he might have 200 grams of grilled steak with a couple of extra virgin olive oil fried eggs and a few slices of paleo bread.”
