Chris Hemsworth transformed his body to a superhuman state to play the role of arrogant god Thor in a slew of successful films.
But the Australian actor is now sporting a much leaner physique as he takes on the part of a shipwrecked sailor in new drama, In The Heart Of The Sea.
The 32-year-old shared a snap of himself to Instagram and Twitter, likely taken during filming, showing the results of his more than 7kg weightloss.
‘Just tried a new diet/training program called “Lost At Sea”,’ he captioned alongside the photo.
‘Wouldn’t recommend it.. #IntheHeartoftheSea,’ he said.
In the picture, Chris’s hair is longer than usual, and he has grown a full beard.
The father-of-three’s face, chest and arms are covered in brown dirt, and his signature blue eyes are his only recognisable feature.
On Sunday, the former Home And Away star participated in a question and answer session with Twitter fans as part of a promotion for the new Ron Howard-directed film.
One Twitter user asked Chris what the most challenging part of filming the movie was.
‘Losing the weight,’ he replied. ‘See the photo I tweeted earlier. I don’t recommend it…’
Before Chris began his training and diet plan for the flick, he had already lost some weight for another role in Michael Mann’s thriller Black Hat.
