Caterpillar 797F is one of the largest truck models in the world with the ability to transport up to 363 tons of goods.

The Caterpillar 797F model was developed by Caterpillar Group and introduced to the market in 2008 with the main function of serving mining activities and heavy construction activities. Caterpillar Group is one of the largest construction machinery manufacturers in the world.

Each Caterpillar 797F vehicle itself weighs 360 tons. When fully loaded, the total vehicle weight will be approximately 725 tons.

To be able to move such a huge mass, the Caterpillar 797F uses Cat C175-20 ACERT engine model, number of cylinders: V-24, capacity: 117 liters specifically developed by Caterpillar Corporation. The 797F’s engine produces 3,793 horsepower, helping the vehicle move at a maximum speed of up to 68 km/h when fully loaded.

The Caterpillar 797F is 15.09 m long, 9.53 m wide and 7.44 m high. To make it easier to imagine, an adult European standing next to this car would be no taller than the wheel

The vehicle’s fuel tank capacity is 7,500 liters, equivalent to a fuel tanker truck. Fuel consumption is 788 liters/100km, one full fill of fuel allows the car to run about 900 km.

The selling price of this car also depends heavily on the equipment installed specifically for each order. According to some information sources, the price of each of these cars is up to about 5 million USD, the price of each tire alone is up to 30,000 USD/unit.

The lifespan of each Caterpillar 797F vehicle depends mainly on the durability of the chassis. Under normal operating conditions, a Caterpillar 797F vehicle can serve up to 20 years.

Recently, Caterpillar Group celebrated the production of the 1,000th vehicle of the 797 series. This is the only super heavy vehicle for mining to be produced up to the 1,000th vehicle
