Ariana Grande’s beauty look at Michelle Yeoh’s Oscars party was so unexpected
if we had made history as Michelle Yeoh did at the 2023 Oscars, we’d have held our own lavish party, too.
Proving that the celebrations are not over yet, Yeoh’s manager David Unger hosted a star-studded soirée at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park’s Aubrey restaurant in London on March 26. ICYMI, 60-year-old Michelle Yeoh was the first actress of Southeast Asian descent to win the Academy Award for best actress.
The fashion-set continued to bring their sartorial A-game long after the official ceremony finished, but a rare appearance from Ariana Grande brought us as much joy as Anya Taylor-Joy’s bizarre pink leather dress, as her newly dyed eyebrows made her almost unrecognisable.
Yeoh’s Wicked co-star Ariana jetted across the pond to celebrate wearing a super-chic little leather mini skirt paired with a black V-neck blouse, another look that showcased her recent style evolution. And at Yeoh’s Oscars event, Grande proved that her experimental agenda is not stopping for 2023, sporting newly bleached blonde eyebrows to match her honey-toned hair. Move over, Julia Fox…
The 29-year-old was ahead of the curve last Autumn when she showcased her newly dyed platinum blonde tresses – swiftly followed suit by Bella Hadid and Jenna Coleman, to name a few.
Since her Nickelodeon heyday, the One Last Time singer has switched up her agenda from cutesy tea dresses and floral everything, to enviably cool-girl off-duty street-style and perfectly sultry-chic evening attire, still accompanied by her signature ponytail, however. Nonetheless her style renaissance is one we will never have enough of.
Grande posted images to her Instagram story from the award winning Japanese izakaya restaurant with Yeoh and Cynthia Erivo, who is also starring in Wicked, saying, “We love you so much @michelle_yeohofficial it hurts”.
Want to bleach your own eyebrows? You’ll be in good company. Other members of the glitterati, including Nicola Peltz and Kylie Jenner have been lightening theirs.
Time to pick up the peroxide.
