Kylian Mbappe struggled to score in La Liga despite Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Valladolid. Coach Ancelotti reassured the Vulture fans.
‘Blockbuster’ Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer, with a five-year contract. The former PSG striker scored on his debut, helping the La Liga giants win the European Super Cup, after a 2-0 win over Atalanta on August 15.
However, Mbappe has had difficulties in La Liga, unable to open his ‘account’ after 2 consecutive matches. If in the opening match of this tournament, Real Madrid let Mallorca hold him to a 1-1 draw, Mbappe clearly saw that La Liga is very different from Ligue 1, then in his ‘debut’ at Bernabeu, the 25-year-old striker has not left his mark, even though the home team won 3-0 against Valladolid.
Mbappe even had to give way to Endrick in the 86th minute and the result was that his junior teammate immediately made a contribution, with the goal that sealed the 3-0 victory for Real Madrid, in the 90+6th minute. Before that, Valverde and Diaz took turns to enter the scoresheet.
Sharing after the match, coach Ancelotti said that he was not worried about Mbappe not scoring yet and also told Real Madrid fans: surely goals (in La Liga) will come to this super goalscorer.
He also denied that letting Mbappe play as a center forward instead of his usual left wing position affected the striker’s ability to contribute to the team.
“No, I don’t think so. Mbappe is a great striker. He is very fast, he moves well without the ball.
Mbappe had three chances in the game. I think in that position (center forward), Mbappe will score as he always does. I don’t think he will have to play on the left or right wing. Don’t worry, he will score!”
Ancelotti praised young star Endrick, who took advantage of his short time on the pitch to make his mark: “He showed great potential. With the goal he scored, Endrick showed all his qualities, good ball control, good finishing. In tight spaces, Endrick is extremely dangerous”.
A few days ago, there was information that Endrick set a goal at Bernabeu, if he doesn’t get as much playing time as he wants, he will have to consider leaving Real Madrid.
