Isaac Bardavid, a legendary Brazilian voice actor, passed away Tuesday at the age of 91.
The star’s death was caused by emphysema his grandson confirmed, according to The Sun.
Bardavid was taken to the hospital on January 26, his grandson said, after the ‘disease was insisting on keeping the oxygenation very low, even though he was using the devices he already has at home.’

Bardavid provided the voices of many iconic characters during his career including the voice of Wolverine in the Brazilian versions of the X-Men movies.
Hugh Jackman, who played the role onscreen for nearly two decades, posted a video remembering the late actor.
In it, he sat close to Bardavid with each actor putting an arm over the other’s shoulder.
Jackman looked directly into the camera and said ‘Don’t be what they make you.’
Bardavid then said a phrase in Portuguese, presumably copying what Jackman just said in English.
Jackman captioned the photo, ‘Isaac Bardavid. What a legend. What a life and legacy. What a voice!! #Wolverine #Brazil “Don’t be what they made you.” Rest well my friend,’ followed by an emoji of the Brazilian flag.
Bardavid was born in Niterói, Brazil on February, 13, 1931. His career spanned many decades and saw him voice several iconic characters.
His credits included Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street, Skeletor in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and Dr. Eggman in the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons.
He voiced the character of Wolverine in multiple X-Men movies. After Jackman ended his run with the character in the 2017 film Logan, Bardavid announced that would be the last time he voiced the character as well.
