Dwayne Johnson regularly discusses how much he loves being a dad. Even with his grueling fitness routine and hectic work schedule, the proud girl dad is always thrilled to spend some quality time with his kids. Until recently, however, The Rock’s two youngest daughters didn’t fully understand what their dad did for work. Heck, even when presented with evidence, his daughter Jasmine didn’t fully believe he voiced one of her favorite Moana characters. Jasmine is older and wiser now, and the spunky 5-year-old knows exactly how to handle having a famous dad.
During an interview with TODAY, Dwayne Johnson shared Jasmine’s adorable new hobby. The Rock is fairly hard to miss, and recently, his 5-year-old started noticing strangers staring at her dad while out in public. Rather than ignoring her dad’s fans, Jasmine settled upon a very 5-year-old way of dealing with it.
“So now, what (Jasmine will) do is if she gets wind that someone is noticing me — we’re at a park and kids are noticing or parents — she’ll come up and grab me and she’ll go, ‘Dad, come on! They recognize you. Come, say hello. Come on, you’re The Rock!’” Jonson told TODAY. “So she pulls me over to this family. And she’s, like, ‘Here. This is my dad.’”
Spending time out in public with her dad appears to be some sort of show-and-tell situation for the fearless 5-year-old. Though it’s impossible to know exactly how much she understands about her dad’s career, Jasmine knows the facts. Strangers want to meet her dad, and The Rock (like most dads) can’t turn down a simple request from his eager young daughter.
For many celebs, Jasmine’s method would be less than ideal. But clearly, the pebble doesn’t fall far from The Rock here. Dwayne Johnson has a soft spot for his fans, regularly taking time out of his days to brighten theirs. With Jasmine as his tiny, wide-eyed PR manager, some of The Rock’s fan interactions are truly family affairs.
